  • Hi Andy, love the videos! Thanks for all the info. My question is twofold: first of all, would you consider a kote strike valid if it comes from the left as opposed to from the right (the question mostly pertains to someone doing Sei nito striking from katate migi jodan, coming down above the shinai on the left side of the opponent, but could theoretically apply to chudan as well). The second part is striking gyuaku dou, we most often see people doing Zanshin backwards, but i’ve also seen some great hits with forward momentum (also quite common in sei nito), but they are never, in my experience, awarded ippon. Your thoughs? Thanks again!!
