Made using deep smoked Bamboo, the smoking process infuses the staves with carbon, which is said to provide additional flexibility, helping to prevent breakage. Often referred to as 'Bio', these smoked Shinai present a deep brown colour, and are currently popular with several of Japan's top Kendo practitioners.
